This is a one track, off album, cover of the song "Joie d'Antan", originally written by Kaldt back in 2008.
This a tribute to the loving memory of Selv, mastermind of Ahbiss & Kaldt. He was a friend of mine for a long, long time. We've shared music, emotions, moments. Selv did voices for a song on another project of mine (Yhdarl - Morbid Consciousness) and it was perfect. He was one of a kind. He is missed.
Years ago, he asked me to help him out with his bands Ahbiss & Kaldt for mixing & mastering purposes. In 2008, I told him I would love to remix his song "Joie d'Antan", which I did back then, but never released it. It was morea than a demo version, a skeleton of a song, without vocals, or a line. I decided to honour his memory by eventually re-recording this song on this very 7th of July.
My screams are his. His wounds are mine. His death lives within me.
Rest in peace, my friend.

NONE a opéré un virage dans Where Life Should Be et ça se confirme davantage dans Damp Chill of Life. Insoutenable... Jordan Vauvert

This was truly a revelation. I was getting started with funeral doom, working on something with my headphones on... Then came Déluge... my jaw actually dropped, I stopped what I was doing and, wide-eyed, just listened to the track, baffled and amazed. After the album was over (I never do this), I went to lay down with my headphones to enjoy it over again.
I rarely heard (and felt) this much power and emotion in an album. Until I find something better, this is my landmark for peak funeral doom. fluo

Jordan Vauvert
